With the Level 2 restrictions we will be operating with a few different measures to allow for a safe environment for all members. These measures include:

1) On entering the stairwell, only one person in and out at a time.

2) Sign in the daily register each visit to The Pa. Please print your full name and details clearly so this can be easily read.

3) Safe distancing of 2 meters must be adhered to at all times.

4) Wipe all equipment before and after use.

5) Use the hand sanitizer regularly throughout your workout.

6) Bring and use a towel on all equipment. Please wash your towel and workout clothing after each workout.

7) If you are feeling unwell, including a sore throat, runny nose or a mild cough, please stay at home.

8) No children under the age of 16 are permitted at The Pa.

While every effort will be made to ensure your safety, it is also your responsibility to maintain a safe workout environment for yourself and others,

See you soon!

The Pā is a Community Centre in the heart of the Kaeo township that was formed and funded by a Community Group and Whangaroa Health Services (WHST) to Support and Promote Healthier Lifestyles for the Residents of the wider Kaeo/Whangaroa rohe (area).

The name “The Pā” was given to pay homage to where the centre is situated, at the foot of the historical Pā site known as Pōhue Pā as well as to invoke a greater sense of whanaungatanga and kinship to the people of Kaeo/Whangaroa.

.......just passing on a panui from Carey Brambley our local Physiotherapist.

Good morning!
The "movement improvement" class at the Pa has started again.... Tuesdays at 1pm....this is for anyone who wants to be able to get down onto the floor, and up off the floor again. Or, if you feel you need to get moving again but are not sure how to begin.
Gary (fitness instructor) and I are there to work out a programme that suits you, so, even though there are a few other people in the group, you exercise on your own, at your own pace, with our guidance and help.
Please contact me on 021 170 6690 (Carey Bramley). Txt is best for me (because I am deaf). Thank you!

Our tūpuna teach us that there should always be a transition between phases of work and stages of life ❤️

This is the same in the transition of creation from te kore (potential) through to te pō (a time of growth like the rahui) and moving to te ao mārama (understanding or new ways of living) 🌓

As Aotearoa moves into the next stage of Level 2, let's reflect on what we learnt during the rāhui. It’s too easy to revert back to what we did prior to lockdown, whānau 🤔

So, let’s take those learnings into this next stage of life to help us be better versions of ourselves and to be good ancestors for our mokopuna 🌀

As Dame Whina Cooper said:
“Take care of our children
Take care of what they hear
Take care of what they see
Take care of what they feel
For how the children grow
So will be the shape of Aotearoa”

In short, “be a good ancestor” - Elizabeth Medicine Crow, Alaska 👼🏽

Gotta keep a finger on the pulse!!!

Please whanau just be aware that we're all still trying to find our feet post Corona lockdown, so for some it's business as usual, for others it's a case of re-assuring each other that we still have everybody's safety in mind and that there are precautions and extra measures in place.

If you have any reservations or questions please don't be afraid to ask

Na reira Mauriora kia tatou katoa!
