Whanagroa Health Services Trust, 180 Omaunu Road, Kaeo, Far North

Part-time 20hrs a week

The key aspects of the role will be:

Provide accounting services:

  • monthly management accounts
  • cash management
  • budgeting and forecasting
  • GST
  • bank reconciliation
  • taxation
  • monthly board reporting
  • monthly financial report preparation
  • monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • fixed asset register maintenance
  • annual audit process

 

  1. Completion and review of various other monthly reconciliations and ad hoc tasks
  2. Back-up support for the finance team functions including daily banking accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes.
  3. Continuous improvement of systems and processes.

 

What is Needed to Succeed in the Role

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • A good understanding of New Zealand Accounting Standards and Tax Legislation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills – confident using a range of online programs
  • Confidence to question the status quo and communicate strategies and ideas to improve processes

Skills and experience required:

  • Payroll experience and familiarity with employment regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Experience working with Xero
  • The ability to work autonomously and use initiative
  • Strong eye for detail
